Worship Ministry

Whether it’s singing in a choir, playing an instrument, reading Scripture, or serving as an usher, we at Faith Lutheran encourage God’s people to use their spiritual gifts to joyfully praise and worship our Lord. Such service is both edifying and uplifting to all of God’s people, and glorifies our Lord in a meaningful and expressive way.

Lay Reader

Person holding a white Bible with gold embossed text, sitting at a wooden table.

The lay reader reads the first two lessons of the day from the lectern at the front of the sanctuary. We very much appreciate the involvement of our Faith members who serve as readers in our Sunday services.  If you would like to be added to our schedule in the future, please notify the church office.

Be part of what makes worship special. Join a ministry and help us serve together in Christ.

Usher

A line of people standing close together, each holding a clear plastic container, in an indoor setting with a wooden wall.

Ushers distribute bulletins and help people find seats. They ensure the smooth running of the worship services. If you are interested in ushering, please contact Jim Putnam at sjputt74@gmail.com or contact the church office.

Alter Guild

Religious altar with wooden crosses, a candle, and a cloth, featuring a backdrop with a golden cross and Greek letters, surrounded by decorative items.

The Altar Guild is responsible for preparing the sacramental elements for Holy Communion. It is an essential support ministry for the congregation. Training is provided. If you are interested, please contact the church office.

Techs run the sound system and the projection software during Sunday morning, Wednesday evening and holiday worship services.  A limited knowledge of computers is helpful for this important ministry.  Training is provided.  If this interests you, please contact Emily Craw at ecraw@faithgb.org, or the church office.

Acolytes

A boy and an adult standing in a chapel near an altar with a large floral arrangement and lit candles.

Acolytes are mainly youth participants who participate in worship services by lighting the candles on the altar before service starts and extinguishing them at the end of service.  If you or your child would like to serve in this way please contact the church office or click the button below.
