Church outreach

At Faith Lutheran Church, outreach is an expression of Christ’s love in action. We serve our neighbors both locally and globally, meeting physical, emotional and spiritual needs through hands-on ministry. Whether it’s caring for neighbors through our food pantry, our Kindnest ministry to young parents, or the Franklin Avenue Mission, we joyfully serve as Jesus’ hands and feet in the world.

KOOL ( Knitting out of Love ) Group

A group of women sitting around a table in a knitting or craft club room, with yarn and knitting supplies on the table and shelves full of colorful yarn in the background.

We are a ministry that provides knit and crochet items to people in our community.  Our mission is to wrap the warmth of God’s love through our knitted and crochet afghans/blankets, baby items, hats, scarves, cat/kitten comfort mats and more. The KOOL group meets on Tuesday evenings from September to April at 6:15 p.m. If you would like more information or would like to join please contact Alexis Ruby or the church office.

Grief Share

Grief Share is a support group to help move through the grief process. This group is a safe, welcoming place where people understand the difficult emotions of grief. Through this 13-week program, you’ll discover what to expect in the days ahead and what’s “normal” in grief. Since there are no neat, orderly stages of grief, you’ll learn helpful ways of coping with grief, in all its unpredictability-and gain solid support each step of the way. Please contact the church office for information on when the group meets.

Kettering Students of Faith is an outreach to those Christian students who attend Kettering University. Meets every other Tuesday throughout each semester, and is led by Faith's  pastors, Deaconess Christie Hansard, and Pastor Randy Duncan of the Michigan District. Each class focuses on a subject that is of interest to the students in an effort to keep them connected to the church and help them in their daily walk of faith.

Loving Others Through Service

At Faith Lutheran, outreach is more than a program - it’s how we live out the love of Jesus. Whether we’re caring for local families, mentoring children, or serving abroad, we seek to meet real needs and share the hope of Christ with our community and beyond.
